My Favorite Local Haunted Spots for a Spooky Getaway πŸ‘»

Spooky season is my absolute favorite time of year. Give me a haunted hotel, a creaky staircase, and a good ghost story, and I'm a happy girl. Over the years, I've visited so many haunted spots some with my family, some with my best friends, and a few that genuinely spooked me and I wanted to round up my favorites in case a haunted getaway is calling your name too.

My tried-and-true local haunts

Living in the San Diego area, I'm lucky to be surrounded by haunted history.

The Whaley House, Old Town
I've been several times β€” with family and with one of my best friends β€” and it never disappoints. It's been called the most haunted house in America, and after walking those rooms, I believe it.

Heritage Park
Another favorite. I've strolled through those Victorian houses with my two best friends, and I once did a ghost tour there with my husband, which is still one of my favorite date nights.

The Horton Grand Hotel, Gaslamp
That place genuinely spooked me β€” in the creepiest way.

Hotel del Coronado
I've visited several times... never stayed the night. Yet.

USS Midway
I've toured it three or four times, and it has its own stories to tell.

El Campo Santo

The little Old Town graveyard β€” every one of these spots has a story.
